Course Overview

This 15-minute CME course presents data showing that epidural fluid collections are the most commonly missed pathology in emergency imaging as well as the most expensive from a medical malpractice perspective. The presentation includes twenty examples of epidural hemorrhage and abscess found by AI but missed by radiologists.

Learning Objectives


  1. Understand the frequency with which epidural fluid collections are missed on CT.
  2. Understand the importance of missed epidural fluid collections from a clinical and medical malpractice perspective. 
  3. Appreciate the typical imaging appearance of missed epidural fluid collections so as to recognize them in future studies.
