Course Overview
This 15-minute CME course presents data showing that epidural fluid collections are the most commonly missed pathology in emergency imaging as well as the most expensive from a medical malpractice perspective. The presentation includes twenty examples of epidural hemorrhage and abscess found by AI but missed by radiologists.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the frequency with which epidural fluid collections are missed on CT.
- Understand the importance of missed epidural fluid collections from a clinical and medical malpractice perspective.
- Appreciate the typical imaging appearance of missed epidural fluid collections so as to recognize them in future studies.
